Abstract

Purpose: Osteoporotic women has risk of experiencing a fracture. They may experience back pain, sleep disturbance, depression and impairment in daily activities due to fracture in Korea and worldwide. The purpose of this systematic review of the literature was to demonstrate the effect of exercise programmes in osteoporotic women and to indicate implications for clinical practice.

Methods: A search of the PubMed (National Library of Medicine) and CINAHL Plus of all relevant articles was conducted to identify studies.

Results: Eight study reports were identified for the systemic review. There is strong evidence to suggest that exercise programs are beneficial effect for osteoporotic women. Exercise programs should be consider the characteristics of patients.

Conclusion: Exercise improves physical function and quality of life in osteoporotic women. Further study must design intervention using a large sample.
